Beginning Friday, July 18, 2008 and ending Saturday, July 26, 2008, the Correction Academy will begin offering FREE tutoring classes to applicants who filed for the August 2, 2008 Correction Officer Exam #8001 in accordance with the following schedule.

DIRECTIONS TO THE NYC CORRECTION ACADEMY 6626 Metropolitan Avenue Middle Village, NY 11379 RENTAR PLAZA Phone: 877.691.2653 / 718.417.2300 VERY IMPORTANT The Academy is located within RENTAR PLAZA on Metropolitan Ave across from the cemetery. You will see a sign for METRO MALL, KMART, BJ’s, TOYS R US. Free parking is available on the roof. BY CAR FROM QUEENS Take the Grand Central Parkway and exit left at #13 / Jackie Robinson Parkway west. Exit Jackie Robinson Pkwy at #6/ Metropolitan Ave. Make a right at the first traffic light onto Metropolitan Ave. Travel approximately 2.5 miles. RENTAR PLAZA will be on the left side. FROM MANHATTAN Take the Triborough Bridge to I-278 west (BQE). Stay right. At exit #4, take ramp right to I-278 / BQE west / Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Take exit 40 right toward Roosevelt Ave / Broadway. Stay straight onto 69th street. Turn right onto Metropolitan Ave. FROM THE BRONX Take the Whitestone Bridge to I-678 south / VanWyck Expressway to exit #12B I-495 west / LIE west toward Midtown Tunnel. Take exit #19 (Grand Ave) go to 69th street and make a left. Travel straight to Metropolitan Ave. and make a right. FROM BROOKLYN Take the Belt Parkway to exit #17 Cross Bay Blvd. At light make a left onto Cross Bay Blvd. Cross Bay Blvd becomes Woodhaven Blvd. Take Woodhaven Blvd to Metropolitan Ave and make a left. FROM STATEN ISLAND Take Verrazano-Narrows Bridge upper/lower level and follow directions for BROOKLYN. FROM NASSAU / SUFFOLK COUNTIES Take the Long Island Expressway / Midtown Tunnel west to exit #19 Grand Ave. Go to 69th Street and make a left. Go straight to Metropolitan Ave and make a right. FROM PUTNAM/ORANGE/ROCKLAND/WESTCHESTER COUNTIES Take the New York State I87 to the Triborough Bridge then follow directions for MANHATTAN OR BRONX.
